Position Objectives & General Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager provides support to the HR team and to all GlobeTax employees. This individual is expected to serve as the benefits point of contact, manage the recruiting process, onboard new hires, manage GlobeTax’s training initiatives, and keep up-to-date with our company policy and how it relates to the marketplace.

 

Working Relationships – Reporting Structure

The HR Manager supports the HR team under the supervision of the HR Executive Director. This individual works with all employees and departments as needed.

 

Tasks and Duties

  • Serve as company’s point of escalation regarding benefits (e.g. medical, dental, vision, short term disability, flexible spending account, 401(k), long term disability, etc.)
    • Act as the employees’ point of escalation to brokers and account managers
    • Communicate benefit changes to HR Executive Director as they relate to payroll
  • Liaise with brokers and HR business partners to ensure compliance and adherence to New York City, State and Federal law
  • Manage relationship with benefit brokers for escalation and open enrollment
  • Assist HR team with onboarding all new hires, educate new hires on GlobeTax’s benefits and policies, enroll new hires under the benefit plan(s) of their choosing
  • Oversee GlobeTax’s recruiting process:
    • Serve as the point of escalation for recruiting vendor relationships (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake)
    • Serve as the point of escalation to all recruiters
    • Manage and update all employee job descriptions
  • Serve as the GlobeTax professional development training point of contact:
    • Maintain relationship with training vendors
    • Research new training options to implement
    • Assist coordinating GlobeTax internal training content development
    • LEAD
    • Corporate training reimbursement policy
  • Upkeep GlobeTax’s HR policy manual, monitoring and reporting industry trends and generating new policy proposals 
  • Assist with the semi-annual review process, ensuring review templates are up-to-date, collecting and saving employee reviews
  • Oversee social media strategy among the HR team by coordinating monthly posts and assigning responsibility accordingly
  • Conduct employee exit interviews
  • Liaise with outside counterparts (e.g. attorneys) in H-1B, H-1B transfers, Green Card and visa status support, ensuring compliance demands are met
  • Execute research projects and tasks as assigned by the HR Executive Director
  • Provide back-up assistance and coverage for HRAdmin team

Qualifications (Skills, Education, Training, and Experience)

  • 3-4 years of experience in Human Resources with management experience
  • Excellent understanding of benefits administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and conflict negotiation ability
  • Professional interpersonal etiquette
  • Commitment to providing the highest level of customer service
  • Upbeat personality and strong presentation
  • Ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize
  • Works well independently and within a group
  • Excellent computer proficiency (particularly in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, and Outlook)
