Withholding Tax News

December 2011

The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) has announced the extension of the transition period allowing taxpayers to gather additional information for completion of Forms NR301, NR302 and NR303 in relation to payments subject to Part XIII tax, from December 31, 2011 to December 31, 2012. The relevant notice can be found by clicking here. GlobeTax will provide updated information on these issues as it is received.

The CRA has issued new guidelines for verifying the eligibility of non-resident investors to receive tax treaty benefits.
